Châlons-en-champagne 

Châlons-en-Champagne, lying just over 100 miles east of Paris.

The city has convenient rail links with the rest of the country and is just over 90 minutes from Paris on the local TER service and just 1 hour away by TGV. Châlons is also accessible via Paris Vatry international airport.

Set in the heart of Champagne-Ardenne, Châlons-en-Champagne, a town classified as a "City of Art and History" in 2007, has long been a major economic hub in northern Europe, thanks to its strategic position on the Marne and the Via Agrippa, the Roman road which connected Rome to Boulogne-sur-Mer.

For several years, culture has been at the centre of the town’s development, which is now home to La Comète National Stage along with a number of festivals. The town has also been home to the National Centre for Arts and Circus (CNAC) since 1984.

Suippes lies 23 miles away from Châlons-en-Champagne in a region known as "La Champagne Crayeuse” and is home to the second largest military camp in France. The Centre d’interprétation Marne 14-18, set up in 2007, retraces the history of the region, marked by the First World War.
