A century after the end of the Great War, its story remains not only topical but also constantly revitalized. This film, made using photographic and film archives from the SPCA (Photographic and Cinematographic Department of the Army) could be described as a meander, following a very subjective course. A myriad other films could be made out of the hundreds of metres of film and photos. All different? Perhaps not, as each must examine, question and even judge a conflict that will for ever remain too tragic, too complex and too immense to be completely understood.
