In Croatia, during the Yugoslav War, young journalist Chris Würtenberg was found dead, strangled with his scarf and wearing the uniform of the international brigade. Twenty years later, his cousin, the director Anja Kofmel, investigates his murder. She tries to discover exactly how Chris was involved in this conflict and attempts to understand young men’s fascination with war.

Born in Switzerland in 1982, Anja Kofmel followed courses given by Adliswil Sihlau at the Rudolf Steiner School, graduating in 2002. She subsequently worked in Switzerland, Ireland and London. She went on to study at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Lucerne School of Design and Arts before working with Eric Bergkraut as assistant director. In 2008 she obtained a degree in virtual design with a specialisation in animation. Her graduation film Chrigi was screened at numerous festivals and awarded the Prize for Best Swiss School Film at the Winterthur International Short Film Festival. |
